One of the first things you want to do with your 3D PC is look at stills and movies you have shot in 3D. In this chapter we focus on how you use programs to open and view your 3D images. Editing them is covered in Chapter 4.

StereoPhoto Maker

StereoPhoto Maker is a very popular and widely used free program that you can use to view, adjust, and edit your stereo photos.
  • To open a stereo image, pull down the File menu, click Open Stereo Image, and select an image to open.
  • To change the stereo format used to display the images pull down the Stereo menu or click any of the Stereo format icons on the toolbar.
  • To move forward through images in a selected folder press the spacebar or click the right edge of either image in the pair.
  • To move backward through images in a selected folder press backspace or click the left edge of either image in the pair.
  • To adjust the stereo window press the left or right arrows.
SUPPORTED 3D FILE FORMATS

3D photo viewers should support at least:

JPS: Side/side JPEG files.
PNS: Side/side PNG files.
MPO: Multi picture object files, captured by the Fujifilm FinePix REAL 3D cameras.

The StereoPhoto Maker's Open Stereo Image dialog box is much like those with other Windows programs. However, you can specify which stereo format images open in. You can also specify this, or change your choice, by clicking icons on the toolbar when any stereo pair is displayed.

When scrolling through images the images displayed may or may not comprise a stereo pair and may be in a different format to that currently selected. For example, Fuji Real 3D cameras can be set to capture a JPG image along with each MPO file. If non-3D images are displayed, you can scroll past them or you can create folders with just those images you want to see.

PARALLAX VALUES

The NVIDIA 3D Vision Photo Viewer reads the auto or manual parallax values set by the Fujifilm camera when the photo is taken and/or edited on the camera.
